The Driving Theory Test – We can help
It’s over twenty years since the Driving Theory Test was introduced in the UK as a compulsory part of obtaining a driving licence. Without a Driving Theory Test pass certificate, you can not book your practical test, so the sooner you start learning, the better! To take the theory test, you must be a minimum age of 17 years old.
It’s not just about knowing what the sign for a Reindeer Crossing looks like. The Theory Test teaches the right attitude towards driving, plus essential driving skills such as vehicle safety, hazard awareness, safety margins, and how other vehicles use the road.
The theory test is split into two parts
Multiple Choice Questions
There are 50 multiple choice questions and you have to answer at least 43 correct to pass (86%).
Hazard Perception Video’s
You will sit at a computer and watch a journey down a road as if you were the driver. There are 14 video clips containing 15 hazards, and all you have to do is use the mouse to click when you see a hazard. Each video is worth 5 marks making a total of 75. You must attain 44 out of 75 to pass this section (58%).
GreenLight can help you learn!
In addition to your driving instructor helping you with driving theory as you learn, GreenLight offer you access to an online service called Theory Test Pro. This will allow you to learn interactively at home, including a chance to try the hazard perception videos mentioned above, and will greatly improve your knowledge of the road.
